Useful addition for smoke and heat extraction systems (SHE)

Smoke gases caused by fires not only restrict visibility in rooms, they are also highly dangerous to life and limb due to their composition.

With the ACO supply air window, ACO now offers a product that is a sensible addition to existing smoke and heat extraction systems (SHEVS).

Smoke detectors are an important step towards protecting people and property against fires. Because in 90 percent of cases, residents are not harmed by the flames. Toxic smoke gases can cause unconsciousness or death in room fires, grease fires or cellar fires. But what is just as important besides smoke detection? Fast and safe smoke extraction from escape routes to enable people to be rescued and to provide the fire brigade with better visibility in the event of a fire.

If smoke extraction is not provided, high temperatures and possibly even explosive gas mixtures can quickly develop. In addition, a lack of or insufficient smoke extraction can also lead to so-called smoke displacement, so that neighbouring areas - such as stairwells - also become smoky. This is where smoke and heat extraction systems provide a relief. They work through the interaction of the exhaust air above and the supply air below. By using the new ACO Therm® cellar window and installing it professionally, suitable precautionary measures can quickly be taken in the supply air area.

ACO offers the electric motor-operated cellar window in four sizes from 1,000 x 500 to 1,000 x 1,000 mm. In combination with the ACO Therm® reveal frame Standard (in any depth), a suitable, special DIN-L or DIN-R side-hung sash and an electric drive, a safe solution is created as part of a SHEV system, taking into account professional installation by trained staff.

The ACO Therm® 3.0 and Therm® 1.2 SHEV swing sashes with three hinges are suitable for installation. If necessary, they are opened further than 60 degrees by the GEZE RWA 105 NT drive, so that the clear opening of the reveal frame can be used as a design variable without further calculation.

As has already been successfully realised in various building projects, after the necessary, project-specific planning, professional installation and expert approval, the installation of the smoke extraction windows achieves the protection targets set out in the building regulations.

The drive opens the sash further than 60°. The clear opening of the reveal frame can be used as a design variable without further calculations.
